Deputy McFadden welcomes substantial funding for new teaching facilities at Ballymahon and Granard schools

Fine Gael TD for Longford/Westmeath, Gabrielle McFadden, has welcomed significant funding for the construction of new teaching facilities at Mercy Secondary School, Ballymahon and the Sacred Heart National School in Granard.

“I’m very pleased that significant funding has been approved for four new classrooms at Mercy Secondary School in Ballymahon along with a WC for assisted users.

“I’m also delighted that grant-aid has been allocated for two new classrooms and two new resource rooms for the Sacred Heart NS in Granard.

“This substantial funding for both schools has been sanctioned by the School Building Unit at the Department of Education.

“This will now enable work to proceed on the new facilities once the tendering processes in both cases have been completed.

“It is also important to note that projects such as these also help to stimulate economic activity by supporting construction jobs in the local economy.”
