My name is Gabrielle McFadden and I am a former Fine Gael TD for Longford/Westmeath.

During my time in Dáil Éireann, I was also an active member of the Oireachtas Public Accounts Committee and the Justice Defence and Equality Committee.

Previous to this, I was a sitting Councillor with 5 years of valuable experience on both Athlone Town Council and Westmeath County Council.

During my time as a Councillor, I was Leas-Cathaoirleach of Westmeath County Council and Mayor of Athlone. During this period, I was also a board member of Athlone Institute of Technology and Athlone Community College. I was also a member of the local Enterprise Board and the Longford and Westmeath Education and Training board.

I am currently a board member on Athlone Community Taskforce and the Dean Crowe Theatre.

I come from a family with 37 years of experience in public office. My late father Brendan was a County Councillor for more than 25 years and my late sister Nicky was also a Councillor, Senator and TD. I am married to Brian McClean and we have two teenage children, Katie and Luke.
